Ceramic Teapot

Our Australian-designed Ceramic Teapots have been handmade for all of the tea lovers out there!

Our handmade Alice Ceramic Teapot is the perfect all-around teapot to pour a cuppa with your people. The Alice Ceramic Teapot will be a treasured piece of pottery in your home for years to come.

All Pottery For The Planet Ceramic Teapots are handmade and one of a kind. The Australian-designed Ceramic Teapot features a big handle for maximum pouring comfort and a macramé cord attached to the lid so you'll never lose it!

You will receive a handmade pottery teapot similar to those pictured, but no two are the same, with variations in size, colour, and markings - making them unique!

All Pottery For The Planet handmade teapots are made of ceramic and must be handled with care. We high-fire all of our pottery pieces for added durability, however, ceramic will crack if knocked or dropped.  Placing a ceramic teapot directly on a stovetop is not suggested. You can pour boiling water into your teapot however we do not recommend heating your teapot on the stove. Ceramic is a porous material, rendering it susceptible to cracking or shattering when exposed to direct heat (flame or electric).

Specifications are approximate. Although we do our best to keep things uniform, with our Ceramic Teapots being handmade, there are slight variations in size, weight, shape, texture, pattern, and volume.

Height 12cm, Volume 750ml, Weight 600g - 700g
NOTE - specifications are approximate. Height includes the lid.

Designed in Australia.

Elegant, well crafted, with maybe a design issue?

I love the beauty of this pot and appreciate the quality with which it's made. The lid fits well and I like the handle, which is metal. It pours pretty well. I've been guilty of pouring too fast, in which case it will dribble, but if you're less desperate for your brew than I, you should be fine. :)

There are two issues I have with the design though. The first is that it has no tea leaf strainer built in. Yes, I can use loose leaves straight in the pot, but I'm not a fan of digging them out by hand nor (the top opening is too narrow for me anyway) or washing them down the drain. We have sequestered another strainer from a former pot which fits but then the lid doesn't quite sit properly; it's workable but detracts from the aesthetic. I would prefer a full-depth strainer integrated into the lid design.

The second is minor; the metal handle drops down to the pot on one side (but not the other). There's friction between the handle and the 'sockets' for the most part but it can drop on one side and bang into the ceramic pot. I don't' think it will create a breakage but it just seems like it shouldn't do this. I wonder if the a bamboo or similar handle might do just as well (and be cheaper and more sustainable)?

It's still a lovely pot; it could just be better for this customer if these were addressed.

Hi Jack!
Thanks so much for taking the time to write this thorough feedback! We really appreciate it :)
Our teapots actually feature an inbuilt strainer in the spout. However, if you use very fine loose leaves there might be some escaping into the cup. We'll definitely raise this with our production team, to see if we can incorporate a finer strainer in future designs.

Thanks again! :)
